That day, Jesus the Christ triumphed over the devil with a score of 3-0. And Satan himself back from the 'battlefield' (Luke 4:1-12). But the war has not ended yet, because in Luke 4:13 says,
"... The Devil retreated temporarily, lying in wait for another opportunity" -MSG
It's mean: On another occasion, the devil will come again & will launch attacks with a more sophisticated strategy. Jesus should not be complacent; he must always keep his spiritual stamina remains strong.
In the four Gospels in the Bible, we can see that Jesus was a true winner. None of the defeat of Jesus recorded in the Gospels. The devil always loses, Jesus has a permanent victory. What's the secret? The secret is: A winner must have superior characters. And one of these characters is 'submit to God'.
James 4:7, "Therefore submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." -MKJV
The devil just runs away from people who submit to God. And the fruit of self-subordination is obedience. There is no victory against the devil without obedience to God. When we disobey God and His Word so that's when the devil knew that he had a chance to beat us.
Permanent obedience shall produce a permanent victory. So, the devil knows that if he wanted to have a chance to win from us every day, he should continue to encourage us not to obey God every day. And one of the favorite sins of the devil is disobedience. So he will try to encourage people to disobey God.
>> Permanent submission to God is the key to permanent victory.
