DEADLY ATTITUDE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PROBLEM

Lately, many people are drowning in problems & issues. Matters of life has become more difficult to deal with. Similar circumstances experienced by the disciples of Jesus in the middle of the sea.
Peter and some others Jesus' disciples are former fishermen who may have experienced enough to wade lake for fishing. However, their ability is also limited. There are certain situations can make them overwhelmed and panicked. As when a great tempest arose in the sea, until the boat the disciples were traveling with Jesus, their teacher, was hit by a wave. All disciples are unable to control themselves, they panic, because fear has mastered their hearts.

Matthew 8:24-26, Behold, a great Tempest arose in the sea, so much so thatthe boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. And His Disciples Came to Him and Awakened Him, saying, Lord, save us! We perish!
And He said to Them, Why are you Afraid, a little-Faiths? Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.
.
A completely different attitude shown by Jesus. Jesus was able to control himself in such a way as to overcome the situation the right way. If in a boat they were on no one can control themselves, then everyone in the boat will perish in the middle of the lake.
The question is, why Jesus was able to control himself in the middle of such a big problem? Maybe we'll say, "Jesus can control himself because He is the Almighty God." If that's the answer, then it is impossible for us to control ourselves in the midst of a very big problem (because we are not God). But note the bible verse below:

1 Peter 4:7, … Therefore be of sound mind, and be sensible to prayers.

This verse is certainly not intended to Almighty God, but to human which has weaknesses & limitations. In fact, what often happens, we are not unable to calm /control ourselves, but do not want to be calm and control ourselves. A calm attitude and self-control is the result of the choice we make. If we decide to stay trust in God only, then we will be able to control ourselves and be quiet. The solution of the Lord will always come when we succed to control ourself and became quiet. Because God will never disappoint his people who believed in Him.
The problem is, many of us tend to carry the burden of our lives anywhere without ever releasing it into the hands of God. We tend to ‘meditate’ our problems day & night, and not meditate God's law (the word of God) day and night ".

Psalm 1:1-2, Blessed is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the ungodly, and has not stood in the way of sinners, and has not sat in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is only in the Law of Jehovah; and in His Law he meditates day and night.

People who are always 'meditate’  their problem day & night, will always fail to control themselves and be quiet, and the impact is also failing to confront the problem correctly.
The panic is not only the wrong attitude but also deadly. Become panic when face a problem actually makes us sinking deeper and deeper in trouble.

Isaiah 30:15-16, For so says the Lord Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, In returning and rest you shall be saved; and in quietness and hope shall be your strength. And you were not willing. But you said, No; for we will flee on a horse. Therefore you shall flee. And you said, We will ride on the swift; therefore those who pursue you shall be swift.

The problem in life is not something that can not be overcome, as long as we face the problem with God. The question is, will you stay calm & believe in God?!

Important wisdoms:
> Decided that you only believe in God
> Encounter problems with calmness and restraint
> Decided that you want to control yourself even being there in the middle of a big problem
> Do not ever 'meditate' your problems day and night
> Fails to be calm, more deep in trouble
> Panic, is a deadly attitude
